Togimanu Tenari 68, passed on Dec 7 2022 peacefully at home. He was born to Aotoa and Tenari in the village of Letogo in Western Samoa.
Music was his life. At the age of 16 he started playing music professionally in Samoa and was one of the original members of a band Fau’ula whose music is still played today. He came to Hawaii in 1977 to play for the Samoan flag day and was then offered a job to play at Tavana’s Polynesian review which started his lifetime of entertaining in Hawaii. He was a loving Husband, father, and Papa and would help anyone in need. He is survived by his Wife Debi, his children Tiara(Musu), Tavi(Maisy), Ari, his grandchildren Talia, Niko, Musu, a greatgrandchild Shayna-Sarai, his siblings Upu, Solomona, Famalepe, Mahana, Aila, Matisi, Nesa, Peter(predeceased), and Many Nieces and Nephews.
His Celebration of life is on January 3rd at Normans Mortuary. 8am-9am family viewing, 9am-12pm open to public with service starting at 11am. Family requests Aloha attire and bring your musical talent to send off Manu the way he wanted with music and laughter!
