Mark Bumanglag Cainguitan, 51 of Lanai City, Hawaii peacefully passed away on Monday, August 24, 2020. He was born in Lanai City, Hawaii on May 10, 1969 to Angel Sr. and Melania Cainguitan. Mark was a cherished son, beloved brother, caring uncle, and dear friend. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and cruising from mauka to makai. Mark was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2016 and battled with it these last four years as it spread throughout his body. Stubborn and strong, he never let the sickness dampen his smile, his contagious laughter, or his huge bear hugs that never failed to make you feel loved. And although he was alone in Maui Memorial Medical Center, he was held dearly in the thoughts and prayers of all who loved him. He is survived by his mother, Melania B. Cainguitan; siblings Amy (William) Calilao, Arline Johnston, Oscar Cainguitan, Shirley (Rawlins) Lanoza, Angel B. Cainguitan, Jr., Alfredo (Cres) Cainguitan, Alita Cainguitan, Violeta (Juanito) Baldado, and Angel Cainguitan, Jr.; nieces and nephews Aldrin Calilao, Seleena Calilao, Maelisa Calilao, Nathan Calilao, Amber Johnston, Brandon Johnston, Ailani Lanoza, Kanoa Lanoza, Kysha Cainguitan, Gladys Mae Cainguitan, Lloyd (Emily) Cainguitan, and Daven Cainguitan; and grandnieces and nephew Alea Maya Cainguitan Matias, Jake Michael Torres, Jr., and Olivia Cainguitan. He is predeceased by his father, Angel A. Cainguitan, Sr. Services will be held at a later date. The family thanks you for your love and prayers during this difficult time.
