Obituary for Jacqueline Nohealani Hala (Kaea)

Jacqueline Nohealani Kaea Hala, age 62 of Lahaina, HI, passed away peacefully on May 20th 2023 at
9:43 pm at Maui Memorial Medical Center.

Jacqueline N. Kaea Hala was born in Wailuku, Hawaii on February 1st 1961, to David Kaiulani Kaea
(deceased) and Marjorie Kauhai Kaholo Kaea. She is the eldest out of her siblings and is survived by her
mother Marjorie and younger siblings Michael Kaea, Cathy Simmons, Davian Keeno and Leah Kaea.

Jacqueline N. Kaea Hala was married to Taniela Hala for 42 years and have 7 children and 25
grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Jacqueline worked many jobs but for the past 16 years she was
a docent for Lahaina Restoration Foundation, she was mainly stationed at the Baldwin House Museum
located on Front street. She enjoyed talking stories, singing and dancing (hula) but most of all she loved
being a humble daughter, a devoted wife, a loving mother, a caring grandmother, a big sister and to
most who knew her “Aunty Jackie”. She had a warm, welcoming character, always smiling and always full
of aloha to all who knew her. She will be missed dearly.

Funeral services will be held June 2nd 2023 at Norman’s Mortuary. Visitation will be open to the public for
viewing from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. At 11:00 am to 12:00 pm will be her eulogy which will be conducted by
the Free Church of Tonga ministers. Her burial to follow at 12:30 pm at Maui Memorial Cemetery
Mausoleum.
