Obituary for Gloria Cabotaje Nicolas Cayaban

After 98 beautiful years of life, Gloria Cabotaje Nicolas Cayaban, of Kihei, Maui went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 22, 2023 with her family by her side. She was born on April 19, 1924 in Hilo, Hawaii to Martin Nicolas and Felicidad Cabotaje.

Gloria is retired as a field worker from HC&S and is survived by her 3 children, Erlinda (Honorio) Esteban, Ernesto (Evelyn) Cayaban, Rogue “Tikoy” (Michelle) Cayaban Jr.; Her grandchildren, Janice (Ryan) Kydd, Sharon (Ranee) Yagyagan, Michelle Esteban, Allen (Justine) Esteban, Christopher (Faith) Yadao Jr., Heather (Rey) Yadao, Justin (Karen) Cayaban and Leah Cayaban; 14 great grandchildren, Isaac Yagyagan, Peyton Kaulukukui, Koji Kydd, Tatianah Esteban, Malachi Esteban, Bethany Kaiali‘ili‘i, Zedekiah Yadao, Aizaxah Yadao, Jaymen Yadao, Joshua Yadao, Jazmyne Yadao, Emma Lilliy Yagyagan, and Nyla Cayaban; Her sisters, Sally (Sonny) Kaiama and Pancing (Angel) DeGuzman; Her brothers, Rudy (Nida) Nicolas and Pablo (Janet) Nicolas. Along with her parents and her husband, she is also joins 2 of her children, Alma Copeldnd and Edith Yadao, and her great grandson, Jordan Allen Yadao, in heaven.

A special thanks to Kahului Hospice Maui, especially Susan, Barbara, Trees and Ines, for all your loving care and support.

Though we will miss her dearly, we will forever cherish our fond memories with our beloved mother, grandma, sister, aunty and friend.

A Funeral Service will be held at Norman’s Mortuary on Thursday, February 2, 2023 with public viewing at 9:00 a.m., Service at 10:00 a.m., Lunch at 12:00 p.m. and Burial to follow at Valley Isle Memorial Park, Haiku at 2:00 p.m.
