Obituary for Glicero Nelson Saribay Sr.

Glicerio Nelson Saribay Sr., 76 of Lahaina, Maui passed away on January 13, 2021 at Maui Memorial Medcial Center. He was born in the Philippines to Nieves Somera Saribay (Deceased Mother) and Alfredo (Elizabeth) Saribay (both deceased)

He worked at the Pioneer Mill in Lahaina for many years before it closed. He also worked at the Sheraton. He later worked at Aina Nalu and the Marriott in Kaanapali where he retired.
Services for Nelson will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Norman’s Mortuary in Wailuku. Public viewing is from 9AM-10:30AM followed by mass at 11AM-12PM. Burial to follow at 12:30PM at Garden of Meditation.

He is survived by his loving wife Lydia Garcia Saribay, daughters Susie (Stacey) Arcangel and Donna (Joseph) Keanini and son Glicerio Nelson (Jana) Saribay Jr.
His ten grandchildren Joshua (Grace) Saribay, Jordan Saribay, Tia (Ralph) Keanini-Sumida, AnnaStaceya (Anthony) Pang, David (Tasha) Arcangel, Josten Saribay, Jhene Saribay, Kara “Makana''Saribay Dean, Tyson Keanini and Nelson “Kapono''Saribay Dean and six great grandchildren Logan and Teagan Keanini-Sumida, Jace, Jori and Jett Saribay and Charleigh Jade Arcangel. Deceased brother Samuel (Elsie) Saribay Sr. and step siblings Mary (Yosuke) Fukagawa, Dolores Sato, Elizabeth (George)Marcinick, Lori Sablas, Gilbert (Vicki) Sablas, Normen Sablas, Cynthia Sablas, Malcolm Sablas (deceased) and Barbara (Wallace) Enouijas (both deceased).

JOSHUA- "Huh wats a matter you" when ever I was naughty. Which was all the time.

GRACE- I will never forget that smile.

JACE- I don't want him to go yet. I still want to spend time with him.

JORI- love you papa Nelson. Watch us and keep us safe.

Jett- Papa! Papa

JORDAN- Persistant

TIA - Papa was the handy man even if it wasn't as good it got the job done. he would always help me when I needed help even when he was sleeping he would wake up happy to help me. But if it was mama or my mom he would of say phuken shit.

LOGAN - papa would also make sure we eat. He will always cook for us when we're hungry. On Monday and Wednesday we would always watch wrestling on the TV.

Teagan- I didn't really know my papa put I got to spend 4 months laughing with him. When papa would see me he would always have a smile on his face.

ANNASTACEYA: Papa was a man of a few words but his smile and laughter said a lot! I miss him so much.

DAVID- You could always count on him always there when you need him


MAKANA- Only one favorite memory of papa is always making my mom & dad stop at the gas station to buy him bud lights so that I could bother him by asking all kinds of questions and him having to answer me so that I would give him the case hahah. But I saw it as climb my way to the top of his list one can at a time.

TYSON- Thank you for taking care of me when I was litte and for always cooking me breakfast before I went to school. I will miss watching wrestling with you.
