Obituary for Frances Carol "Fran" Oshiro
On August 26, 2020, Frances “Fran” Carol Oshiro, 72, passed away at home. She was born on December 20, 1947 in Paia to Frank Villamor Almasin and Roberta Lospoc, attended Haiku School and graduated from Maui High School, Class of ’65. She retired from the County of Maui, S. Maui Parks.
Fran enjoyed golf, softball, volleyball, and horseshoes. Her favorite passion was going to Vegas using family reunions as a reason to “gotta go!” It did not matter; she went as often as she could. She truly was a loyal Washington Redskins fan and would proudly display the Redskins Logo. Her greatest joy was her great granddaughter Vian and loved to play with her as being princesses, with dolls, doing make-up coloring pictures, watching iPad, doing different hair styles on Vian, watching her dance, sing, and playing the piano. It was always family first with Fran. She loved her family and held them close to her heart. She would always ask God to bless her family and keep them safe. Her faith in God was extraordinarily strong.
Fran is survived by her husband Raynard Oshiro and great granddaughter Vian, daughter Deni (Jeff) Racoma, grandsons Aaron Coelho and Brandon Racoma. Siblings, Daniel “Boy” (BJ) Almasin, Rosalinda “Rose” (David) Yamamoto-Honokaupu (Deceased), Benedict “Ben” (Katherine) Almasin, Anthony “Tony” (Lynne) Almasin and Victoria “Vicky” (Charles) Jennings. Sisters in law, Sonya (Ricky) Purdy, Jamie (Rob) Kane-Igawa, Jacelyn (Christopher) Kane-Simpson, Brother in law, Mark (Seon Joo) Oshiro. Uncle Don Timan. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Fran lived a great life that was cut short due to medical issues. She was strong, tough, and fought to overcome those issues. She beat cancer, a 10-year survivor, and 7 years being diabetes free. However, there were still other issues. All that fighting took its toll on her. Fran’s greatest wish was to see Vian grow up and see her graduate but that was not to be. God saw that she was struggling, and she was tired. So, God called her home with the Angels guiding her to Heaven. No more pain, no more suffering, no more struggling, no more dialysis. Fran is now reunited with her parents, sister, grandparents, and other family members who have passed. Heaven has gained a beautiful angel who will forever be watching over us.
