Obituary for Consolacion "Mary" Tumpap

Consolacion “Mary” Tumpap of Wailuku, Maui (formerly Napilihau) entered into heaven on January 3rd. She was surrounded by her loved ones in her final days.

Mary was born on June 20th, 1934, to Pacida and Primo Andres in Wailuku, Maui. Mary worked as a waitress at the Teahouse of the Maui Moon, at the Napili Kai Beach Club for many years, then later worked for the Honokowai Superette as an assistant manager, were she eventually retired.

She was married to the love of her life, Sanico “Sonny” Tumpap, on October 16th, 1954, until his passing on February 2nd, 2004.

Mary was predeceased by her brother Francisco Ocalada and grandson Cory Tumpap.
Mary is survived by her 6 children, Victoria Matsubayashi (Herbert ✝), Patricia Kulm (Joe ✝), Joseph Tumpap (Avis), Frank Tumpap, Juliana Bilbao (John), Angelina Klampe, Hanai sister Avelina Garcia (Larry) and sister Alicia Ascueta (Roy). Cherished grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Services will be held on January 19th, 2024, at Norman’s Mortuary in Wailuku. The private family viewing is at 8:30 a.m. followed by a public viewing at 9:30 a.m. and services will start at 10:30 a.m. Lunch and beverages will be served after the service. The burial will take place at 2 p.m. at Valley Isle Memorial Park in Haiku.

The family would like to thank Maui Memorial Hospitals doctors, and nurses and on the 4th and 5th floor, for their excellent care of our mother during her last days on this earth. We would also like to thank Monsignor Terry and David Smith from St. Anthony’s church for their support.
