Obituary for Casmer Lindford ""Toot-Toot"" Burns

Casmer L. "Toot Toot" Burns, 77 of Haiku, Maui, Hawaii passed away surrounded by loved ones on Friday, May 13, 2022. He was born on January 1, 1945 to Henry Sr. and Hannah (Konohia) Burns of Haiku.

He is survived by his children Dexter "Son" Burns, Dacry (Joseph Jr.) Santos Bras, Dwight (Jane) Burns, Haley (Fred) Bayong, Maile (Jonathan) Davis.

Grandchildren: Joseph, Malia, Malia, Maile and Jonathan(Dexter) Burns, Joey, Jamie,Jason and Jasmine (Darcy) Santos Bras, Wyatt and Tobie (Dwight) Burns, Raquel (Haley) Bayong, Lilia, Ava, Sunny and Ginger (Maile) Davis, and 15 Great Grandchildren.

Siblings; Michael (Pam) Burns and Myra (Reno) Piligrin. Predeceased by his sister Bernice (Sonny Neves) Montalvo and brother Henry Jr. (Cynthia) Burns.

Toot-Toot was known to be a hard worker. he began working at Hashi's as a mechanic. Soon after he worked overseas on Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands. When he returned to Maui he worked at Haleakala Storage as a Truck Driver. From the 70's into the 80's he worked for Charles Ota at Land Mark Ranch as a cattleman. He was known to be a skilled cowboy and hunter and was devoted to give a helping hand to other ranchers, friends and families. His truest passion was hunting, gathering, and being in mountains riding his horse "Ali`i".

The family would like to invite everyone to gather in honor of Toot Toot.

A Memorial service will be held on Friday June 3, 2022 at 930a.m. at the Holy Rosary Church in Paia, Maui with a lunch to at 30 Pau Hana Road in Makawao, Maui.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Hospice Maui Hale and his Doctors that tended to his comfort and care.
